Performance (Source: Car and Driver, March 1987)

These tests were performed on a 1987 model 200SX SE V6

Acceleration                                Seconds

Zero to 30 mph.................................................2.7

           40 mph.................................................4.2

           50 mph.................................................6.2

           60 mph.................................................8.6

           70 mph................................................11.6

           80 mph................................................15.1

           90 mph................................................20.2

         100 mph................................................26.1

         110 mph................................................35.0

Standing 1/4 Mile:.......................16.5 sec. @ 84 mph

Top Speed:...................................................122 mph

Note:  C & D is wrong here.  The SE will go faster than 122.  The consensus on 200SX SE top speed is around 130-135 mph.  Due to the speedometer ending at 125, speedometer error, and differences between individual cars, this number is hard to nail down.

Braking, 70-0 mph at impending lockup..............176 ft.

Skidpad, 300 ft. dia...........................................0.79 g

Fuel Economy, EPA City/Hwy.......................19/26 mpg

My personally experienced avg. economy in mixed driving: .....24-25 mpg

Record highway economy for a single tank:................ .............30.1 mpg

Here are the comments from Consumer Reports Annual Auto Issue, April 1988:

Nissan 200SX

2-door: XE, $12,349

2-door hatchback: SE, $12,599

    SE, $15,399

This model is made in Japan.

The 200SX has a 2-liter 4 in the XE models; the SE model has the powerful 3-liter V6 used in the 300ZX.  When last tested, in 1985, the 200SX was a good, representative sporty car.  Predicted reliability: much better than average.
